Job Description

We are a well-established contract manufacturer in the nutraceutical industry with 20 years of outstanding service. Our FDA-approved company possesses numerous certifications, including SQF, UL, Organic, Kosher, and NSF. We are looking for a strategic leader to oversee quality and compliance operations during a period of significant growth. As the Director, you will lead a team of quality professionals, spearhead modernization initiatives, and maintain high quality standards while facilitating the company’s expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the QA/QC departments comprising 18 team members, including two managers who report directly to you, while also potentially supervising the Sanitation department.

  • Revamp existing quality systems by transitioning from traditional paper-based methods to modern technology-driven processes.

  • Ensure adherence to FDA regulations and cGMP standards while preserving essential certifications (SQF, NSF, UL, Organic, Kosher).

  • Act as the SQF Primary Practitioner and coordinate both internal and external audits.

  • Create strategic quality initiatives aimed at supporting production growth with a target of 10% monthly increases.

  • Work closely with R&D on the development of new products, ensuring label compliance.

  • Function as a technical liaison for key customers, including involvement in technical qualification processes.

  • Establish and implement data-driven quality metrics and corrective action mechanisms.

  • Administer the supplier quality management program.

  • Initiate continuous improvement strategies and develop team enhancement plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)

  • 10+ years in quality assurance/control, preferably in dietary supplements or pharmaceuticals

  • 5+ years in senior quality leadership roles

  • Thorough knowledge of FDA regulations and dietary supplement standards

  • Familiarity with cGMP, SQF, NSF, UL, and other industry standards

  • Strong expertise in quality methodologies, risk assessments, and process validations

  • Proven ability to modernize quality systems and implement tech solutions

  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills

  • Experience in nutraceuticals/supplements over general food production

  • Proficiency in change management and contemporary QA/QC technology systems

  • Strategic mindset in quality management with a balance of technical and operational skills
