Construction Estimator / Project Manager

Site Development & Heavy Civil Construction

Location: Greater Cincinnati Area
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience + benefits

We are a growing site-development and heavy civil construction company specializing in excavation, underground utilities, grading, and complete site packages. Our company takes pride in delivering high-quality work safely, efficiently, and with integrity. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Estimator / Project Manager who can take ownership of bids and manage projects from initial pricing to close-out.

Position Overview

This role is ideal for someone who can both estimate work accurately and manage projects to completion . You will be responsible for evaluating plans, preparing takeoffs, generating proposals, managing budgets, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are executed safely, profitably, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

  • Review plans, specs, and RFPs for site development and heavy civil projects
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, paving, and related scopes
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
  • Develop competitive bids, cost estimates, schedules, and value-engineering options
  • Prepare and present proposals to leadership and clients

Project Management

  • Oversee project execution from pre-construction through completion
  • Manage budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and billing
  • Coordinate with field supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Schedule and manage resources to keep projects on time
  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders
  • Prepare close-out documentation and ensure project compliance

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in estimating or project management in site development / heavy civil construction
  • Strong understanding of excavation, utilities, grading, and civil plans
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and surveys
  • Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software (Bluebeam, HCSS, PlanSwift, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to visit job sites
